Real-Time OEE Dashboards for US Manufacturers

Stop calculating OEE in spreadsheets. Get live availability, performance, and quality metrics by line, machine, shift, product, and operator.

OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) is the single most useful manufacturing KPI — and the most underused. Most US plants either don't track it, or they track it in a spreadsheet that's two days stale by the time the morning meeting starts.

Volvsoft builds custom OEE dashboards that pull from PLCs, MES, and ERP in real time, so plant managers, supervisors, and operators see exactly where the bottlenecks are while there's still time to act on them.

What you get

Real-time availability tracking

Auto-detected uptime, downtime, and downtime reasons coded by operator on tablet.

Performance vs. ideal cycle

Live cycle time per part, per station, with deviation highlighted before scrap accumulates.

First-pass yield & quality

Reject rates, scrap categories, and rework loops visualized by line and shift.

Drill-down by line, shift, operator

From plant-wide OEE down to a single machine in 3 clicks.

Big-screen plant displays

Wall-mounted dashboards designed for the floor — readable at 30 feet.

Mobile alerts for outliers

Push notifications when OEE drops below threshold for a configurable window.

Why most OEE projects fail

Three reasons OEE projects stall out: data sources aren't connected (operators end up entering everything by hand), the dashboard is too generic to show actionable bottlenecks, or the rollout never makes it past one pilot line.

Volvsoft's OEE projects start with a 1-week site survey — what equipment, what data sources, what KPIs leadership actually wants — then prototype on one production line before scaling. Most plants see usable dashboards in 6-10 weeks.

Data sources we connect to

We pull from whatever's on your floor. PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Modbus, OPC-UA), MES platforms (Plex, Wonderware, Aegis, custom), ERP (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics, custom), and operator tablet entry for what isn't auto-detected.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to replace our PLCs or HMIs to get OEE?

Almost never. We can pull data from PLCs as old as 1990s ControlLogix. For machines without any PLC, we add a low-cost edge sensor (~$200/machine) plus an operator tablet for downtime reason coding.

How fast can we see results?

Pilot line live in 4-6 weeks. Plant rollout typically 3-5 months. Most clients see 8-15% OEE improvement in the first 6 months — most of it from making downtime causes visible.

Can OEE data feed into our existing BI tool (Power BI, Tableau)?

Yes. We can feed cleaned OEE data into Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or any data warehouse. Some plants prefer our purpose-built dashboard for the floor and Power BI for executive review.
